About me…

I was lucky enough to receive my first art scholarship at 11 years old and my eyes were opened to a whole new world. After attending the Cleveland Institute of Art, I made my way to New York to be an illustrator. Somehow, I ended up inventing toys. However, painting has always been my comfort zone. Even though I have worn many design and inventing hats over the years, whenever I need to feel safe and grounded, I paint. Whether its painting clouds, sunsets, food or flowers, finding colors and shape using paint gives me peace.

I come from a family of gardeners and cooks, elemental Midwesterners who find joy in nature. Old-fashioned flowers transplanted from a friend or neighbors garden and nurtured for years are like living memories. I photograph flowers everywhere I go and use those printed images to build paintings.  Finding the light and color that grows from each bloom is my goal. I paint digitally as well as use traditional painting methods. Either method, the goal is the same-capture the color and light that is everywhere if you look for it.
